Rumors of the LG Optimus G2 have slowly percolated in the run up to CES 2013, but reports haven’t been able to fully nail down the device’s release. So leave it up to LG themselves to tease at its possible arrival—or at least announcement—in a new video priming folks up for its press conference next week.
The above video in no way, shape, or form confirms an impending Optimus G2 announcement, but what else could the company possibly reveal? Combine this with a rumor out of the sketchy DigiTimes that the device will make an appearance next week, and you have a half-baked possibility.
DigiTimes merely says the company has a quad-core handset to showcase, so it could very well be something completely unrelated to the Optimus G2, but that’s unlikely. The device will allegedly sport a 5.5-inch screen (resolution unknown) and a Qualcomm quad-core S4 Prime MSM8974.
LG’s press conference is set for Monday, Jan. 7 at 8 a.m., so it won’t be long until we see the G2 (or whatever else).
