China Unicom Gearing up to Offer Nokia Lumia 920 for Free on Three-Year Contract

China Unicom will allegedly sell Nokia’s excellent Lumia 920 for free on three-year contract, according to NokiaPowerUser. That’s a pretty hefty and wonderful discount—nothing beats free in the tech world. In addition to that offer, the carrier is reportedly offering a two-year option as well, which subsidizes the cost down to just $62 bucks.

To be clear, this isn’t the Lumia 920T that was announced for China Mobile earlier this month, though the devices are nearly identical as far as specs are concerned. China is an enormous market for smartphone growth, and Nokia’s Lumia 920 is one of the best examples of unique hardware matched with an equally exciting mobile OS, Windows Phone 8.

It’s unclear when China Unicom will offer the 920, but it’s good to know that the device will be more widely available in such a big market.
