Are you ready for a phone with a 6.1-inch screen? Well, you’d better be because that is exactly what the Huawei Ascend Mate is packing.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu made an appearance yesterday at the company’s retail store in Guangzhou, and apparently he couldn’t resist the urge to show off the Ascend Mate he was carrying. This mammoth 6.1-inch phone has been rumored to be shown off at CES 2013 in a couple of weeks, but that cat is officially out the bag now.

Not all of the details are known yet on the specs, but it is definitely a 6.1-inch monster of a phone that comes in at a 9.9mm thick, has a 1.8GHz quad-core chip, 2GB of RAM. Yu did write on Sina Weibo, however, that the specs may not be final.
