FCC Photos Show Off Huawei Ascend D2 Ahead of CES Announcement

Photos of Huawei’s Ascend D2 have leaked ahead of the company’s official CES announcement in January. The pictures, though, don’t really tell us all that much. It looks like any old smartphone, in white, with a camera (of course), and no physical home button. These snapshots come straight from the FCC, so their authenticity is unquestionable.

The handset looks nice enough—not too many differentiating bells and whistles that we can see. It’s really on the inside where the Ascend D2 is trying to stand out. Like many other device rumors we’ve heard heading into CES, this is going to join the 5-inch club in the increasingly popular phablet market: big 1080p screen, quad-core processor, Android (probably Jelly Bean), 13-megapixel camera, and a 2,900mAh battery.

The Ascend D2 rounds out a trio of devices confirmed for CES from Huawei; the other two include a 6.1-inch Android device known as the Ascend Mate, and another running Windows Phone called the W1.
