AT&T might not be the only carrier to offer Samsung’s peculiar Galaxy Camera. The point-and-shoot/Android cyclops has reportedly shown up in a new FCC document with Verizon as a possible suitor — that means LTE is onboard rather than AT&T’s HSPA+ version.
Interestingly, although the filing shows the camera is equipped with Verizon’s LTE Band 13, the device lacks 3G CDMA. For those who live out in rural America, that essentially rules the whole Internet connected thing moot — one of the Galaxy cam’s biggest selling points — if there’s no LTE connection.
Testing for the alleged Verizon iteration was performed back in early November, so its arrival might not be all that far off. Passing through the FCC is typically an proof of a gadget’s impending arrival, so expect to see some sort of announcement in the near future.
