Tim Cook, Apple CEO and replacement to Steve Jobs, is perceived as an affable and passionate diplomat whose temperament, while not quite as enthralling as Jobs, is calm and enthusiastic. His presence hasn’t quite achieved rock star status, but that in no way means he hasn’t done a respectable job steering the Apple mothership, even despite all of 2012‘s controversy — Foxconn, Apple vs. Samsung. But who is he really? NBC’s Rock Center will tell us next week, Dec. 6, in Cook’s first major interview since taking over CEO reigns. It should prove to be an interesting profile that sheds light on not only Cook himself, but his approach to Apple and the future of the company.
