Google LG Nexus 4 Review

New smartphone releases aren’t without their issues, and Google’s Nexus 4 is no different. According to multiple user complaints, the device seems to be emitting a faint buzz or click from the earpiece/camera area when inactive. Others are saying there’s a strange “distorted sound” when making calls. We haven’t experienced the problem firsthand, so could this be limited to only certain hardware?

An exact culprit hasn’t been identified, but the consensus seems to be that it’s “some sort of shielding problem within the phone’s electronics,” Phandroid explained. The issue is gaining some notoriety on Google’s Android Project site, so it’s likely only a matter of time before Google begins investigating the issue. Given the Nexus 4’s massive demand, it would certainly be cause of concern if this is indeed hardware related. We’ll ride out the next few days and see how this one develops.
