Musician Says His Accessory Can Turn Your iPhone Into a "Genius Phone"

by Brandon Russell | November 24, 2012November 24, 2012 4:00 pm PDT, widely known for his involvement with the Black Eye Peas, is using his celebrity and passion for technology to turn the humble iPhone into a “genius phone.” According to The Telegraph, Mr. is preparing to introduce a new accessory and iPhone app, fittingly dubbed, that promises to turn the device’s camera into a 14-megapixel shooter, among other things.

“We have our own sensor and a better flash,” explained. “You dock your phone into our device and it turns your smartphone into a genius-phone.” Well then. Simple as that, I suppose. Why didn’t anyone think of this sooner?!

Specific details regarding both and app and accessory is scant, though an official launch is apparently slated for next week. But merely putting a sensor (how big) upon a sensor doesn’t automatically mean the quality will improve — pictures will certainly be big, though. What kind of glass will be used? Is the app required? If this works as well as Will says — turning a phone into a “genius phone” — I’ll be mightily impressed.

The accessory and app combo will actually be the first of many digital projects coming out of the camp, so it sounds like all of our devices are about to get that much more genius-y.
