Have you taken a tour of Google’s new indoor maps for desktop users yet? There’s a lot to parse, as the company just pushed out a new update that catches it up with the Android version — complete with a total of 10,000+ floor plans across Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, the UK and the US. (Click here for a list of mapped venues.)

To check it out, hit up Google Maps and zoom in on one of the select buildings until details come up. The floor plan includes labels for airport gates, specific shops inside malls, sections/departments inside retail stores, ATMs, restrooms and more. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Google is encouraging venue owners and managers to upload floor plans of their own locations, and even has a dedicated online tool for that.

Finally desktop users can benefit from the features that Android users have long been enjoying. And it will be particularly handy for planning shopping excursions this holiday season, travel or other outings.
