Google Admits December Mishap in Android 4.2, Fix Coming Soon

Jelly Bean 4.2 - December issue

The strangest thing happened recently; after Google issued Android 4.2 to devices, users noticed a glaring absence: the month of December was completely missing as an option when entering a date into the People app. Google has admitted to the mistake and said that it will be fixed shortly. The official statement from Google is as follows:

We discovered a bug in the Android 4.2 update, which makes it impossible to enter December events in optional fields of the People app (this bug did not affect Calendar). Rest assured, this will be fixed soon so that those of you with December birthdays and anniversaries won’t be forgotten by your friends and family.

Typically, consumers would probably lose their cool with such a big flop, but Android 4.2 is on such a few number of Android devices that developers are probably the major ones affected by the issue (and those who already own a Nexus 7). Considering we’re less than two weeks away from December, we hope the fix is pushed out any day now.
