Android 4.0 ICS Rolling Out to AT&T Samsung Captivate Glide on Nov. 10

Samsung Captivate Glide

AT&T announced Friday morning that it will begin rolling out Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the Samsung Captivate Glide tomorrow, November 10. The update includes an updated browser with tabbed web page support, offline reading and an option for viewing pages in desktop mode.

It also offers face recognition support for unlocking the home screen and quick access from the lock screen to the camera, text messaging and your phone dialer. The notification shade in Ice Cream Sandwich also allows you to easily swipe away notifications.

Sure, it isn’t Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or even Android 4.2, the latest version, but it’s a definite upgrade for Captivate Glide owners. The update will be available from Samsung’s update website and AT&T promises additional ICS updates are on the way.
