Starting today, AT&T will offer the new Sony Xperia TL at $100 with a new two-year contract. And it comes running Ice Cream Sandwich. How disappointing. But this is, after all, a mid-range device. Jelly Bean, incidentally, is expected to arrive on the handset at some point, whenever that may be.
The Xperia TL comes equipped with a 4.6-inch display (1280 x 720 pixel resolution), 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (microSD expandable up to 32GB), a 1,850 mAh battery, a 13-megapixel rear camera (1.3-megapixel front) and LTE. Not bad at all for the price, and if you want to “feel” like James Bond.
The inclusion of LTE and a beefy camera are particularly notable, and Sony’s designs are typically solid. This doesn’t sound like a device that’ll attract consumers in droves, but it has its talking points.
