hurricane-sandy-oct-25Any semblance of normalcy for Verizon customers is still weeks away, with service still struggling to come back online in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. According to Reuters, some top Verizon execs fear stability won’t be restored for at least a few weeks as the provider continues to pump water out of key central equipment offices; the carrier is allegedly using tens of thousands of fuel every day in order to power Verizon’s back-up generators. Despite the overwhelming odds, Tom Maquire, senior vice president for national operations at Verizon, is confident the carrier will eventually restore service back to normal.
