Apple Rolls Out iOS 6.0.1, Addresses Horizontal Line Issue and More

ios-6.0.1-updateApple on Thursday rolled out an update for iOS 6 (iOS 6.0.1) that promises to introduce the usual improvements and fixes, including the horizontal line keyboard bug that affected some users. In addition, the almost 70 MB download fixes a wireless update problem that some iPhone 5 owners experienced, and also a glitch that sometimes prevented a user’s camera flash to not go off. It’s the typical housekeeping you’d expect from Apple, and the update is hitting just before the company’s iPad mini and iPad with A6X come out.

This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:

  • Fixes a bug that prevents iPhone 5 from installing software updates wirelessly over the air
  • Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard
  • Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off
  • Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPhone touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks
  • Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances
  • Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match
  • Fixes a Passcode Lock bug which sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen
  • Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings
