This might sound weird, but I’m not watching the trailer posted in this article. I won’t do it. It’s not that I’ve heard anything particularly sour about the clip, but I’ve elected to stave off any media today in favor of the only Assassin’s Creed III related goodness I experience being the actual game.
It should be on my doorstep by noon, unless Hurricane Sandy’s caused too many delays in UPS’ shipping schedule. If that happens, I might pony up the scratch for a digital copy on Steam. I would have done that from the start, but I’ve played the entire series on my Xbox 360 so far.
I’ve loved this series since the start. Revelations, the last entry, was a bit of a disappointment compared to Assassin’s Creed II and Brotherhood. Those two games pushed the series forward in bounds, Revelations nudged it in a whole manner of awkward directions. Tower defense that barely worked? First person platforming that was rather boring? It had both.
I’m hoping Assassin’s Creed III blows my mind. I will not, however, be tackling the review for TechnoBuffalo. Instead, Eric Frederiksen will have that piece down once he’s taken our new hero straight to the top.
Assassin’s Creed III is out today for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3
and PC. Check that, the game isn’t out on PC until November 20th.
