Google’s 8GB Nexus 7 Currently Unavailable; 32GB Inbound?

nexus-7Google is maybe, probably phasing out the 8GB Nexus 7. Either that, or this is foreshadowing a major price reduction, which has been hinted at for the past several weeks.

The 8GB device has abruptly gone from In Stock to Coming Soon, with nary a word from Google whatsoever. The search giant has an event planned for Oct. 29, so it’s likely we’ll hear something of substance once the soiree kicks off. The most probable situation is the impending arrival of the 32GB Nexus 7, which has been appearing all over the place.

Might we see Google’s new Nexus 7 lineup include a 16GB option for $200 and 32GB option for $250? Probably. The question is if Google will still offer up an 8GB version at a cheaper price point. After all, $150 is pretty compelling entry compared to the recently announced iPad mini.
