For those of you who didn’t get enough masochistic punishment out of FromSoftware’s brutal action RPG Dark Souls, a new DLC content pack called Artorias of the Abyss is now available to whip you just bit more.
PC gamers have already taken a stab at the new content as it came pack in the Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition released earlier this summer, and fan reaction has been positive to the added content so far, or rather, as positive as a response can be when it’s killing you over and over again.
This new DLC takes gamers to the lost kingdom of Oolacile, a brand new area infested with…you guessed it….over-powered trash mobs, bone crushing boss fights, deadly undetectable traps, and plenty of new armor, weapons and other goodies waiting to be looted.
Co-op will also be managed through match-making, a first for the series which proudly integrates multiplayer with the single player campaign.
If you haven’t jumped aboard FromSoftware’s excellent Souls series yet, be sure to at least give it a try and see what the fuss is about. The pair of games are two of the finest gems created for the current console cycle. If you’re a gamer who craves for a challenge dangling just within reach of being fair, and you don’t mind getting your butt served to you on a platter over and over again, then Dark Souls and its spiritual prequel Demon’s Souls are a fine choice for those tough enough to take the plunge.
Artorias of the Abyss is available through Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network for 1200 MS Points or $14.99.
