Amazon’s newest Kindle Fire HD is an all-around better product over last year’s model. The screen is sharper, the design is more refined, and the OS has been revamped for a more streamlined experience. At just $200, it’s a fantastic value, and boasts an impressive ecosystem to boot.
Consumers have reportedly responded well to the company’s new digs, with Amazon announcing on Monday the nearly two-months old tablet is the company’s best-selling product on its website. The online retailer didn’t share exact numbers, but a spokeswoman said the result is based off unit sales, meaning they’re quickly flying out the door.
It’ll be interesting to see how the device fares over the competitive holiday period. Apple is set to unveil a smaller iPad on Oct. 23, while Google is reportedly planning on unveiling a 32GB Nexus 7 for just $250. That’s some pretty strong opposition.
