Ubisoft has released two brand new commercials for Assassin’s Creed III. The first delivers a cinematic look at the game, while the second is all about the story of the new hero. Dig into both above and below.
Be warned, this commercial may look like it’s just barely more than a minute long. It’s not. It’s actually around 30 seconds long, followed by another 30 seconds of pre-order bonus ads, just like the clip at the head of this post. Lame City, USA.
What you might have noticed about both of this fairly neat commercials is that Connor, our new hero, is doing a lot of Red Coat killing. In fact, he even gives good ol’ George Washington a nod as he heads off to slaughter some Brits in the first clip.
These commercials were made for the US. In fact, they might not even play for those of you reading this post from international locations. As such, they feature what Ubisoft’s marketing team think would be the most brutal selling point: patriotic murder, I guess.
The fact is that Connor fights both Blue Coats and Red Coats in Assassin’s Creed III. Ubisoft has already said that Connor’s only true enemy is the Templar, and he doesn’t care what side of the war those enemies are on.
Also, based on the recently revealed DLC, we know that George Washington eventually becomes evil in this take on the Revolutionary era in the very young United States.
Assassin’s Creed III will launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms on October 30th. A Wii U version of the game will be available at the system’s launch; that happens on November 18th.
