Sony’s “Nexus X” Looks Pretty Fake to Us

Either Sony’s designers have given up and gone home or the above image is fake. And we really do hope it’s fake because the phone pictured above looks skinny, ugly and prone to insane amounts of hand grease. In any case, the picture above landed on Picasa Monday morning and is allegedly being dubbed the “Xperia Nexus” or the Sony “Nexus S.” Google has tapped HTC and Samsung to build its Nexus-branded smartphones in the past, but it is tapping several companies to build its Android devices this time. We’ve seen detailed leaks of LG’s Nexus handset already.

So, does Sony have a Nexus smartphone in its future? Possibly, we just hope it’s not the one above (and below). AndroidCentral took a sharp eye to the pictures and noticed artifcating around the microUSB port, an oddly-faded Sony logo and that the EXIF data from the phone’s camera is actually tied to a Galaxy Nexus.
