Microsoft has aired its first Windows 8 commercial in the United States, marking the start of the company’s massive marketing campaign for the new operating system. The first 30-second clip features the tagline “Windows reimagined,” and demonstrates the platform’s compatibility with touchscreen notebooks and tablets. It also reminds us that Windows 8 is coming on October 26.
Microsoft has reportedly spent between $1.5 and $1.8 billion on its Windows 8 marketing campaign, which will see giant billboards erected in major U.S. cities, and many more ads like the one you see above. The company is also planning to erect special “pop-up” stores that will open at midnight on October 26 to sell Windows 8 devices.
It’s likely you be seeing Windows 8 ads a lot from now on, then.
Will you be staying up late for a Windows 8 device later this month?
