You can wait three days to see what ASUS’s sequel to the Padfone will look like, or you can just look here. The company’s first device wasn’t necessarily the type of blockbuster you’d find in any of Samsung’s recent offerings, but it was a pretty solid handset nonetheless, offering a unique spin on the smartphone/tablet/laptop Frankenstein hybrid.
According to a series of leaked pictures, the Padfone 2 will again see ASUS using its expertise to produce some drool-worthy hardware to go along with those rumored flagship specs. ASUS has repeatedly proved itself as one of the more exciting manufacturers on the tablet front; the Padfone 2 might bring it into that same territory in the smartphone market.
The device looks soooooo incredibly thin, tapering off at the bottom for a tear drop design. Additionally, it easily connects to the tablet shell for a more robust mobile experience. And if you want to pop off a few longwinded emails, you can connect a keyboard and start typing away.
ASUS will officially unveil the Padfone 2 on Oct. 16, giving us a better idea of what kind of experience the 4.7-inch, 13-megapixel equipped device can do. On looks alone, I’d say this is certainly a device consumers should keep an eye on this holiday season.
