Windows 8 packaging

It’s time to start ordering up your copies of Windows 8, and now that the pricing has been revealed, it looks like it won’t be too bad of a deal.

Newegg opened up its pre-orders this morning on the various versions of Windows 8, all at a discount off of the suggested retail prices. Here’s a look:

  • Windows 8 Professional Upgrade – $69
  • Windows 8 Pro Pack – $69, product key card only
  • Windows 8 OEM -$99 (32 or 64 bit)
  • Windows 8 Professional – $139 (32 or 64 bit)
Newegg has long been known as a go-to source for PC enthusiasts, so we’re glad it has already opened up pre-orders for the operating system. Thankfully, you won’t have that long to wait. Microsoft will begin shipping the operating system to consumers on Oct. 26th. Unfamiliar with Windows 8? If offers a brand new Metro UI, full touchscreen support and much more. We’ll see tablets and notebooks with multitouch displays, incredible hardware and more.

We’ve been running the consumer test build of Windows 8 for the past several months and already like what we see. So, if you’re ready to move on from Windows Phone 8, this is an operating system you’ll definitely want to pick up.
