Appeals Court Overturns Galaxy Nexus Injunction

Apple was originally granted a preliminary injunction against sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus back in June. Then it won more than $1 billion in damages from Samsung when a jury ruled that Samsung was guilty of infringing on Apple’s patents. Today, according to Reuters, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled that the original district court that initially granted the injunction “abused its discretion in entering an in junction.

The case is set to go back to a district court in California, which will then need to decide whether or not an injunction still applies. We’re guessing this case won’t be settled until after the new Nexus hits the market.
