Spotify Coming to Samsung Smart TVs & Blu-ray Players Later This Year

Spotify on Samsung TV

Samsung has struck a deal with Spotify that makes it the first manufacturer to bring the music streaming service to its Smart TVs and Blu-ray players. An official Spotify app will launch later this year, giving Premium subscribers instant access to more than 18 million tracks in their living room.

New Spotify users will be able to trial the service for a limited time, TechCrunch reports, but existing users will need a Spotify Premium subscription — priced at $10 per month — to use the app, in addition to a compatible Samsung Smart TV product with an Internet connection, of course.

The app will initially be available on the Samsung Smart TV 2012 E Series, but existing Smart TV owners will be able to download it onto their sets manually.
