U.K. Retailer Reduces Samsung Galaxy S III Garnet Red to Just £400 ($642) Today Only

Galaxy S III 399 Expansys

U.K. retailer Expansys has slashed the price of the Garnet Red Samsung Galaxy S III to just £399.99 (approx. $642) for today only. That’s just over £150 (approx. $241) off its usual retail price.

The SIM-free device comes unlocked and unbranded so you can pop in your existing SIM card and use it on any GSM network, and as you’d expected, a 12-month EU-wide warranty is included. Like the Marble White and Titanium Grey Galaxy S III variants, the Garnet Red model boasts a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.

It also features a gorgeous, 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display (1280 x 720), an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and an LED flash, and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich — not Jelly Bean, yet! — pre-installed, and boasts a 2,100 mAh battery which Expansys notes is a “battery battery than [the] iPhone 5.”

This is almost certainly one of the cheapest prices you’ll find for a brand new, SIM-free Galaxy S III in the U.K. right now. But the offer’s only valid until 11 p.m. GMT, or until stocks last. So if you’re interested, get in quick.
