Apple has yet to announce the iPad mini, but we’re expecting invites for its press event to go out sometime this week for an alleged announcement on Oct. 17. Case and accessory makers typically begin advertising Apple product accessories before product launches so that consumers are aware that they’ll have them in time; but, as we saw before the iPhone 4S launch, sometimes this strategy backfires.
Despite that, popular iPad and iPhone accessory maker Zagg is already advertising an iPad mini screen protector. The company says it’s “coming soon” and will sell the display cover for $24.99. The company says it’s made of “military grade patented material engineered for your iPad mini,” offers “self-healing qualities” and includes a free lifetime replacement warranty for the life of the iPad mini.
Zagg doesn’t say when the screen protectors will ship, but the company has probably designed them around the highly rumored 7.85-inch display, so we’re guessing they will be available right around the time of the iPad mini’s launch.
