Retro City Rampage Sells October 9th for PC, PS Vita and PS3

This game looks and sounds incredible. Retro City Rampage feels like a hilarious love letter to gaming on the Nintendo Entertainment System. This mostly independent project, developed by Brian Provinciano, has been a long time in the making. It’s finally coming, and it’s coming soon.

As the older trailer above so clearly shows off, Retro City Rampage is a classic and comedic romp through the aging standards of gaming on the NES. The scary thing for me is that I assume a lot of our readers don’t remember growing up with these retro mechanics; well, I do, and I bet readers my age and older will enjoy a hilarious and nostalgic trip through this title once it launches.

Like the headline says, Retro City Rampage will launch for the PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on October 9th (that’s next Tuesday) as a downloadable title. It will sell for $14.99.

Buying the game on the PC platform includes options like Steam, GOG and the title’s official, DRM-free site. If you buy the game on the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3, you’ll only need to do so once. Retro City Rampage is a cross-buy game for the PlayStation platforms. Xbox 360 and WiiWare users will have to wait until later this fall for a release date.

If you’re a fan of retro gaming, we suggest you mark your calendars and check this out when it releases. We’ll try and find a way to review the title as well.
