Nokia Temporarily Pulls 808 PureView’s Latest Software Update

On Tuesday, we told you about an awesome new update making its way to the Nokia 808 PureView, which introduced a number of new apps and features, and enhanced the handset’s already impressive imaging experience. If you didn’t get it on day one, you probably won’t get it for a while. Nokia has temporarily pulled the update after discovering some “issues” with it.

In a post on the company’s Support Discussions forum, a Nokia employee wrote:

Hi all,

just a quick heads up. We’ve heard about some issues after the update and now decided to take the update files off our servers until we have investigated the case.

I’ll announce it here once the update is available again, but for the moment please don’t worry if your phone doesn’t get the update.

It’s unclear what those “issues” may be, but users on the forum have been reporting that they’ve been unable to install the software, or that certain features don’t work properly — or worse, that their handset will no longer turn on at all — after installing it. If you’re one of the unlucky few, head on over to the forum to leave your comments, or contact Nokia support with your issue.

Nokia has promised that it will let users know once the update starts rolling out again.
