AT&T announced on Wednesday that it will, at some point in time, offer LG’s Optimus G Android handset. We recently had hands-on time with the international version and were impressed with what we saw in such a slim package (it’s just 8.45mm thick).
The Optimus G is equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (expandable via a microSD card slot), a 2,100mAh battery, an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video and more. It also has a Qslide feature for browsing the web while you’re also watching a video, and a QuickMemo app that lets you quickly draw on any captured screen. You can take a screengrab of a map, for example and then circle a restaurant and send it off to a friend.
AT&T declined to provide details on pricing or a release date, but given the phone’s specs we’re guessing it will come in priced similarly to other high-end smartphones.
