The indie smash-hit Terraria will be making its way to the consoles next year, and a jam-packed teaser trailer has hype train finally leaving the station.
All the customization and crazy combat from the PC hit will make its way to the console counterparts, and long awaited additional content will finally be available and ready at launch.
The release should also expand upon the rivalry between Terraria and Minecrafts’ rabid fanbases. Minecraft has a several month head start and has already been downloaded over 4 million times. Something tells me Terraria is going to need a lot of help to hit that mark.
For some real entertainment, be sure to check out the YouTube comments section in a few days. PC gamers are furious that one of their most cherished exclusive has spread to those dirty console masses. How dare the peasants believe they have the right to our lofty games on their weak machines! Of course, PC gamers are frustrated because the devs of Terraria haven’t delivered the updates they originally promised. Kidding aside, we get their frustration.
It’s a little ironic, though, because I still believe the character art for the game bears an uncanny resemblance to Final Fantasy V, and I don’t think there is a series more reviled to the hardcore PC crowd.
Terraria will be released some time in 2013 through the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
