Google’s Motorola Mobility Drops Patent Suit Against Apple

Google’s Motorola Mobility recently pulled a patent infringement complaint against Apple from the International Trade Commission. Neither Apple nor Google explained why the complaint was pulled and while one might assume the two reached an agreement, that’s not the case.

“There are no agreements between Motorola and Apple, written or oral, express or implied, concerning the subject matter of this investigation,” Google said in its filing with the U.S. ITC.

Reuters said back in February that Apple and Google were in contact and that a settlement could have been forthcoming. Apple recently won a $1.05 billion settlement after a long-drawn court battle against Samsung in the United States, but the company continues to fight Motorola, Samsung and several other companies in courtrooms around the globe.
