How will Apple’s iPad mini look in comparison to the Kindle Fire HD and the Nexus 7? We’re glad you asked, because Nowhereelse.fr recently published an image that shows a mock-up of the iPad mini next to both tablets.

Oddly enough, even though the iPad is expected to have a larger 7.85-inch display, the body appears to be relatively similar to that of the Kindle Fire and Nexus 7, which both offer smaller 7-inch screens. The mock-up iPad mini measures just 7.69mm thick, compared to the new iPad that measures 9.91mm thick. We’re guessing the change in thickness is due to the smaller battery that will be required to power the tablet.

Apple is expected to hold an event on Oct. 17, and we expect plenty of additional leaks ahead of the announcement.
