Acer CloudMobile Finally Goes on Sale in the U.K. for £290 ($468)

The Acer CloudMobile has finally gone on sale in the United Kingdom today, with a modest SIM-free price tag of £290 (approx. $468). The mid-range smartphone is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and boasts a 4.3-inch HD IPS display.

The CloudMobile was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress back in February, and it was originally set to go on sale in the U.K. on September 5. It’s taken a long time to make its debut, then, so does the device still have what it takes to make a mark in the mid-range market?

Acer CloudMobile Specifications

  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 HD IPS display
  • 1.5GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8GB internal storage
  • 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash
  • 1080p HD video recording
  • HD front-facing camera
  • 127 x 65.8 x 9.9 mm
  • 1,460 mAh battery

It may be a mid-range handset, but the CloudMobile does have some impressive internals, such as its HD display and the 8-megapixel camera. The device also boasts the AcerCloud service, which allows it to sync with other Acer devices, including laptops and tablets.

The CloudMobile is available to purchase today from British retailer Expansys, with delivery expected in 3-5 working days.
