Motorola Says Atrix 4G, Photon 4G and Electrify Won’t Get Ice Cream Sandwich

Motorola has no plans to update the Atrix 4G to Ice Cream Sandwich. The company’s timeline, which was changed just last week with some less than stellar news, is getting even worse with a trio of handsets getting cut from Motorola’s future plans. In addition to the Atrix, Motorola’s Photon and Electrify will stay on Gingerbread forever. Ugh. This will certainly upset plenty of owners who have stuck by Motorola. There are always unofficial methods of getting more recent builds of Android on older devices, but that might not necessarily be an option for some users. Either way, couple that with the news that Motorola’s big RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD devices might be delayed, and it’s not a good way for the company to head into the busy holiday period.
