Sony’s Xperia Tipo and Xperia Dual Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphones are now available unlocked in the United States. The Xperia Tipo supports UMTS HSPA 850/900/1900/2100MHz networks and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz networks while the Tipo Dual, which can use two SIM cards at the same time, supports UMTS HSPA 850/1900/2100MHz and GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz networks.

Both devices are equipped with a 3.2-inch display with a 480 x 320-pixel resolution, 2.5GB of storage, a 1,500mAh battery, an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The Xperia Tipo is available in black, silver, blue and red for $179.99 while the Xperia Tipo Dual is available in black or white for $189.99.

Both phones offer solid specs at their respective off-contract price points and should be attractive to plenty of global travelers.
