Are you still awaiting for your back-ordered iPhone 5? It appears, despite supply shortages, some U.S. regional carriers will begin selling the latest iPhone at a discounted price. nTelos Wireless (Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky and North Carolina) is selling the 16 GB iPhone 5 for $149, $50 off the regular price. Of note, nTelos is also selling the iPhone 4S for $49. We’re likely to see other regional carriers matching nTelos’ offer.
Love or hate regional carriers, they have become more competitive against large carriers by bringing on better phone offerings, low prices and better rates.
Are you on a regional carrier? What’s been your experience on regional carriers? Would you switch to a regional carrier for cheaper hardware?
