Samsung has today announced that the Galaxy Note II will be coming to the United Kingdom on October 1, a whole month before the handset is released in the United States. The 5.5-inch “phablet” will be available to purchase from Samsung’s own retail store in London, through all major British carriers, and from a number of third-party retailers — some of which are already taking pre-orders.

Clove.co.uk is now offering the SIM-free 16GB Galaxy Note II in Marble White and Titanium Grey for £528 (approx. $857) including VAT. However, it’s thought that the device will be available for free with a qualifying carrier agreement — like most handsets in the U.K.

The international Galaxy Note II boasts a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, HSPA+ connectivity (not LTE like the U.S. version), and a 5.5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display. It features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and an LED flash, plus a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera.

Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Note also comes with an S Pen stylus for making handwritten notes, drawing pictures, and more. It will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed — with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface laid over the top.

Are you looking forward to the Galaxy Note II?
