Starbucks Confirms it’s Coming to Passbook in iOS 6 This Month

When Apple began teasing Passbook on its website following the initial preview of iOS 6 back in June, Starbucks was one of the cards included in its screenshots. But now that Passbook is here for all to enjoy, Starbucks support is nowhere to be seen. Fortunately for us espresso addicts, the company has confirmed on Twitter that it will be arriving “at the end of this month.”

If you’re yet to play around with Passbook, it’s one of the biggest features Apple has introduced to iOS 6. At first glance it may not seem like all that much, but when you realize its true potential, it gets incredibly exciting.

Passbook allows you to take your store cards, coupons, boarding passes and more and make them digital and interactive. Once added to Passbook, they come alive. Cards and coupons present you with your remaining balance, boarding passes inform you when there are changes to your flight, and all your cards will appear on the lock screen when you enter a location that accepts them.

Right now, however, Passbook cards are hard to find. Only a few retailer currently offer Passbook support, including Target, Walgreens, and Ticketmaster. But that’s to be expected considering it’s still so new.

By the end of the month, you’ll be able to add Starbucks to that list.
