Sony announced during their press conference at the Tokyo Game Show that they will be bringing Japan a port of Muramasa: The Demon Blade to the PlayStation Vita on March 28th, 2013.
Developed by Vanillaware, Ignition Entertainment brought Muramasa: The Demon Blade to North American Wii owners in the fall of 2009. Muramasa was, by far, one of the most fun and underrated 2D action games that launched for the Nintendo Wii. By the time this title dropped, the Wii was pushing out more third party shovel-ware than quality, and Muramasa was a standout in a crowd of carnival games and fake fitness simulators.
Hopefully, Sony will enjoy high sales of this PS Vita port. Those sales could translate to worldwide localization. That means another awesome game to enjoy on the PS Vita. Having torn through the original more than once, I’d really like to dive in once more.
In addition, Sony announced that the game will be further supported with new DLC. That’s something that we never had a chance to enjoy when it was released for the Wii.
