We just met with LG after a press conference in New York City to check out its brand new Optimus G Android smartphone. It will be the first device to launch in the U.S. with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, complete with 4G LTE support. The device features a large 4.7-inch HD True IPS + display, Android Ice Cream Sandwich (presumably upgradable to Jelly Bean at some point), a 13-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video and amazing software features.
One feature that stood out to me was the ability to stream HD media to a TV while multitasking on the phone. So, for example, you can watch a movie and still check your email or use your phone for other functions at the same time. We also saw a demo where LG was controlling a presentation on the main screen but was able to view notes and the full presentation slides on the handset itself.
The device will launch during the fourth quarter of this year, although LG didn’t specifically say on what carriers or how much it will cost. Enjoy the gallery below and stay tuned for a video later today!
