AT&T has pushed out a new software update to its Samsung Galaxy S III today, but before you dance around the room in your underpants in excitement, we have to tell you that it isn’t Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Instead, it’s an Ice Cream Sandwich update that brings a number of new features to Samsung’s flagship smartphone.
While there appear to be no release notes with this update, Android Central reports that it introduces a new brightness slider to the handset’s notification drop-down, making it super quick and simple to alter the brightness of your display; and brings VPN and enterprise security enhancements. The update also updates the handset’s radio firmware to version I747UCLH9.
This is a relatively minor update, then, but having that brightness slighter in your notification drop-down is sure to be a handy addition.
You should get a notification to let you know when the update is available to download for your Galaxy S III, but you can check manually in your Settings app.
