Capcom Kills Your Facebook Friends in Interactive RE6 Trailer

Mark this down as one of the creepiest video game trailers ever. Using the power of Facebook, Capcom has created an interactive first-person trailer that has you walking through the hopeless world of Resident Evil 6, only the stars of this trailer are random people from your friend’s list.

During the trailer, pictures of your loved ones appear on the missing persons wall throughout the barren and bloody streets, and someone in your family will constantly be texting you begging for help as you stumble closer and closer to the person’s location.

I’ll have to apologize to my sister later for not reaching her in time, but it was weird seeing her pregnant profile picture being constantly flashed in front of the screen while she’s being ripped to pieces by zombies. In the process, my parents and two close friends are also either zombified or missing.

It’s a creepy trailer that could be just a lot of fun if it weren’t that all these people you know are now dead in the Resident Evil game universe. Don’t try explaining to these Facebook friends either because it will confuse them and creep them out when you tell them that they are dead. Thanks a lot, Capcom. Now my friends think I’m weird.

Resident Evil 6 will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this October 2nd. The demo just went up on Xbox Live and PSN today.
