Watch Jony Ive, Scott Forstall Describe How Apple Designed & Built The iPhone 5 [Video]

Whether or not you’re a fan of Apple, the iPhone, or iOS, it’s hard to deny the iPhone 5 is a pretty incredible smartphone in terms of design. It features a faster A6 processor, more RAM, a larger display, and of course, 4G LTE connectivity — in a form factor that’s 20% thinner than its predecessor — while offering even more battery life.

So how did Apple achieve all those things for its latest smartphone? Well, a number of the company’s senior vice presidents — including Jony Ive, Scott Forstall and Bob Mansfield — explain all in a new video.

The 7-minute clip you see above looks at the iPhone’s all-new design; why Apple decided to make its display longer, but not wider; how the handset’s internal components were specially designed to make the it super thin; why LTE is a great addition to the iPhone; and more.
