Apple Seeds iOS 6 GM to Registered Developers Ahead of Next Week’s Launch

Apple has finally seeded its iOS 6 Golden Master to registered developers ahead of next week’s launch. The software comes more than a month after the final iOS 6 beta, and it brings the new panoramic camera feature to the iPhone 4S, and quashes all the bugs affecting previous releases in preparation for the public release.

Unlike previous iOS 6 updates, this one isn’t available over-the-air, so developers will have to download the package manually from Apple’s Dev Center, then install it using the latest version of iTunes. This is likely to be exactly the same build that is released on September 19 — providing no major issues are discovered in it — so once you’ve installed the GM, you won’t see an update next week.

Accompanying the iOS 6 GM is Apple’s latest Xcode release — version 4.5 — which is also available for download via the Dev Center.
