iphone-5-lte-leak-websiteSomeone at Apple needs to reconfigure the company’s checks and balances, because its own website has spilled yet more information ahead of this morning’s iPhone 5 announcement. By using the same URL method used to discover the official iPhone 5 name, the clever minds over at 9to5Mac were able to unearth an internal reference to the new iPhone using LTE.

It’s not like this wasn’t expected, or at least sought after among the Apple faithful. If anything, it eases the minds going into today’s announcement, and puts the iPhone 5 on the same playing field as a number of top Android handsets. Some rumors have speculated the device could be global LTE ready, but we’ll just have to wait and see what Tim Cook says later today.
