Highway Robbery: Apple’s 30-pin to Lightning Adapter to Cost $29

Ouch. If you own a ton of iPhone, iPod or iPad accessories that currently use a 30-pin adapter (aka all of them), you’re going to be coughing up quite a bit for adapters to Apple’s new Lightning port. Apple just listed the adapter on its website for $29 and said it will ship in October. It’s compatible with the iPhone 5, the iPod touch 5th generation and the iPod nano 7th generation products, all of which take advantage of the new lightning port.

We recommend you wait until third-party retailers begin selling the device, because it really shouldn’t cost more than just a few bucks.
