Apple: 700,000 iOS Apps Now Available, 250,000 iPad Applications

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook just announced that there are now more than 700,000 iOS applications available in the iTunes App Store. 250,000 of those applications were built specifically for the iPad.

Cook also said that most customers use more than 100 applications, and that 90% of all applications in the store are downloaded each month. In other words, most of them are actually being purchased or downloaded by users and not just sitting around in the app store unnoticed.
