Google has announced that 90 percent of Kasas City neighborhoods met the goals to receive Google Fiber.

After Kansas City, Kan.. and Kansas City, Mo. were announced to be the first to receive Google’s Fiber project, the work began of making sure there was enough demand in the various neighborhoods. Each area of the city had to have a certain percentage of residents register for the service before it would be locked in as receiving the 1Gbps speeds.

The drive has now come to a close, and 180 of the 202 neighborhoods met the goals needed, meaning 90 percent of Kansas City and its suburbs will be receiving the service. Those neighborhoods that didn’t meet the goals for this year will receive another opportunity to do so sometime next year.

No word as of yet which neighborhoods will be first in line to receive Google Fiber, but there are sure to be some anxious online gamers awaiting its arrival.
