Zynga’s Chief Marketing Officer Resigns Amidst Continued Executive Exodus

by Brandon Russell | September 10, 2012September 10, 2012 8:00 pm PDT

farmvilleZynga, a social games maker behind Farmville, has seen yet another high-ranking departure from its ranks. Jeff Karp, chief marketing officer, has resigned from the struggling company, joining an exodus of sorts after COO and CCO left Zynga earlier this year. The company has endured large user losses since publicly listing on stock markets late last year — its full-year earnings per share forecast has been cut as a result. Additionally, Zynga missed second-quarter expectations, leading to a number of lawsuits against the company. Zynga has blamed changing algorithms within the Facebook camp for its poor performance, and also cited game delays.

Whatever the case, it’s dark times for the social gaming company.
